Irish Wedding Traditions
The day after the wedding, it is traditional for close family and friends of the bride and groom to gather again to enjoy food and drinks to connect again in a more relaxed atmosphere - this is referred to as "Second Day Barbecue" on our invite and takes place on July 30, 2023. No one is required to attend this event, as it is optional, and you can indicate if you are unable to attend on the RSVP when you receive your invite.
Dress Code
Day 1: Wedding and Receptions: Formal
(suits with ties, dresses, etc.)
Day 2*: BBQ: Semi-formal

*All are invited but optional to attend! Please read the "Irish Wedding Traditions" FAQ and RSVP accordingly so we know how many to expect on this day as well.
Photos Allowed
Yes, but please be sure to enjoy being present and don't block the official photographer. We'll be sure to share photos with everyone.
Also, if you have photos you'd like to share with us and other wedding attendees, please add them to our Google Photos Album.
Are children allowed?
We request that this be an adults-only reception. Children are welcome to stay up until dinner time (around 18:00).
For those bringing small children, Trim Castle, one of the accommodation options, has babysitter services available. Please inquire directly with them, if interested.
🇺🇸 How do I call Ireland?
💶 Cash Bar
Reception & 2nd Day BBQ Bar will require payment (CASH ONLY) for all drinks. This is custom for Irish Weddings.
Electrical Plugs & Outlets
Ireland uses a Type G plug, which has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern. Ireland operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
Typical USA devices have Type A or Type B plugs. Operate on 120V and 60Hz.
🇺🇸 Warning: Be sure to check if your device can utilize higher voltage and lower frequency. Commonly there are issues with hair dryers and hair straighteners.
Drinking & Driving in Ireland
Irish laws are very strict and any level of drinking while driving is not permitted and highly penalized by the police. We plan to support our guests with transportation between the venue and our accommodation options.
